Airbus has unveiled a significant upgrade for its A400M military transport aircraft, aiming to adapt the platform for integration with the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) and the Multi-Domain Combat Cloud (MDCC).
The enhanced A400M will act as a high-bandwidth communication node, connecting manned and unmanned assets across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains.
It will also be capable of supporting electronic warfare, launching precision-guided weapons, and deploying Remote Carriers—uncrewed systems that can be transported close to the battlefield and operated in-flight.
