The Peruvian Navy has officially launched and christened two new Pativilca-class offshore patrol vessels, advancing its mission to enhance maritime security. Named BAP Río Huarmey (PM 210) and BAP Río Nepeña (PM 211), the ships are part of a 10-vessel program intended for surveillance, anti-piracy, environmental protection, and search and rescue operations. The Pativilca-class is modeled after South Korea’s Tae Guk-class patrol ships.
