Nigeria has unveiled its first fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered vehicles for military use, according to local reports.

The fleet includes 20 buses, 50 pickup trucks, and 14 executive vehicles, and was officially commissioned at Abuja’s Mogadishu Cantonment. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader push toward clean energy. CNG offers lower emissions than gasoline while delivering comparable fuel efficiency and is suitable for all vehicle types, from light-duty to heavy-duty.

CNG is created by compressing natural gas to significantly reduce its volume.
