Portuguese defense firm EID has introduced TerraNEX, a tactical integrated communication system designed for military vehicles and fixed infrastructure deployments.

The modular solution can be tailored to seamlessly integrate with battlefield communication networks, supporting IP-based systems, network management tools, audio controllers, and other subsystems to enable secure, efficient coordination between deployed units.

EID successfully demonstrated TerraNEX in Santa Margarida last month in collaboration with the Portuguese Army. The system proved its capability to operate across multiple radio networks, handle various waveforms, access secure military internet, and connect with soldier-borne equipment.

TerraNEX was also installed on the army’s Pandur 8×8 armored vehicles and M577 personnel carriers to test its performance on mobile platforms.

According to EID CEO Martin Bennett, the NATO-compliant system is designed to “enhance mission readiness” and will support the modernization plans of both Portuguese and international armed forces.
