In a recent move to boost Somalia’s military capabilities, Turkey has delivered a set of attack and support helicopters, reinforcing bilateral defense ties.
The package includes three T129 Atak helicopters for air operations and two unspecified utility helicopters for naval use, all part of a broader defense support strategy.
The deliveries align with a 10-year security agreement signed in February, under which Turkey supports Somalia in countering insurgent threats, improving its naval defenses, and addressing tensions along its coastline.
