The United Kingdom and Germany have announced plans to co-develop a next-generation deep-precision strike weapon with a range exceeding 2,000 kilometers (1,243 miles).
While specifics of the program remain undisclosed—including whether the system will be a cruise or ballistic missile—the weapon is slated for delivery in the 2030s. It will significantly surpass the operational range of the UK’s Storm Shadow and Germany’s Taurus cruise missiles.
According to the UK Ministry of Defence, the new strike capability will be “among the most advanced systems ever designed by the UK,” aimed at enhancing national security, strengthening NATO deterrence, and bolstering both British and European defense industries.
